In July I was generously treated to a 2 day baby moon spa retreat at the beautiful Ste Anne’s Spa in Grafton, Ontario, Canada.
This stunning retreat sits on 500 picturesque acres with an original family home, restaurant, pools, trails and exquisite gardens, including a swoon worthy rose garden and so much more. We were truly in awe of the spa and how much attention is put into every detail. They’ve truly managed to keep the original character of the property from the early 1900s intact as well, which is very impressive.
“Originally constructed in 1858, Ste. Anne’s Spa began its legacy as a heritage fieldstone country castle and estate. Over the years, it served as a cherished residence for several notable families—the Masseys, Jaynes, Keelers, and Blaffers—before being lovingly restored by its current owners, the Corcorans. Throughout its storied history, one constant has endured: a sense of familial warmth and hospitality that continues to define Ste. Anne’s Spa today.”
DAY ONE
Our first day at Ste Anne’s started with checking into a beautiful room and getting our infamous cozy robes, we would end up living in these robes for the next few days which was totally a highlight of my stay. Not having to worry about outfits, doing my hair or makeup – especially while super pregnant, it was such a relief! After checking into our room and getting settled (and robed up), we walked the beautiful trails to the restaurant for our first dining experience – afternoon tea. One thing I wanted to highlight as it’s something that really impressed me, none of the rooms, bedding, linens or robes smelled of toxic chemical cleaners because they do not use any. This is truly important to us and we were so happy about it. Also, all of the water on site is clean, spring water – how amazing is that?
Afternoon tea consisted of 3 tiers of delicious small sample sized goodies, sandwiches, scones, desserts and of course tea. It was the perfect mix of savoury and sweet with delicious organic teas to pair with. Following our afternoon tea, the spa had us all set up for massages. My prenatal massage was just what my body was craving and we enjoyed a relaxing stroll through the stunning rose gardens afterwards. The gardens here are truly gorgeous, I felt like I was in Europe between those and the architecture!
You can catch some aerial footage of the rose garden over on my Instagram reel {here}, but we highly recommend visiting Ste Anne’s spa in person for the best experience!
Once we finished our relaxing walk in the gardens we enjoyed some of the amenities, there was a beautiful outdoor pool, a eucalyptus steam room and of course my favourite, the hydrotherapy pools. I was able to spend so much time floating in one of the hydrotherapy pools. Out of the variety of those pools, one was the safest temperature for me being pregnant…and it was perfection! The Upper Lazy River Pool. This bath is heated between 90-95 degrees and is meant to give the effect of a river flowing over your body. We soaked and enjoyed some great, quiet conversation, met some lovely people and then dried off in the sunshine before dinner.
Now, here is one of the best parts. After drying off from our time in the pools, we dressed into our Ste Anne’s robes and went to dinner. Yes, in our robes! And I wish I could tell you how relaxing this was, 90% of the guests at dinner (which was a completely full restaurant inside & outside) were in their robes too. It made me almost giddy, but being pregnant this was just beyond lovely and relaxing. We watched the sunset while enjoying a delicious meal. We were also so impressed at how many gluten free options there are, they even have a bakery full of gluten free goodies around the corner from the spa. You can find fresh bread, treats and jams and even pizza.
After dinner we watched the sunset and soaked in the relaxing pools for another 2 hours, then enjoyed a short walk back to our room and slept SO well. Delicious food, massages and salt water pool soaks = the best sleep ever!
DAY TWO
We woke up, dressed into our cozy robes over our swimsuits once again and walked the gardens to breakfast. This meal was actually my favourite of them all! We both had the yoghurt parfait with their homemade gluten free granola as well as their classic eggs Benedict with spinach and tomato instead of bacon. It was delicious!
Next up we enjoyed a sound bath meditation and then a relaxing yoga class before a delicious lunch. Actually, I think lunch was our favourite meal come to think of it, I mean every meal as delicious at Ste Anne’s Spa so it is hard to play favourites. For lunch we enjoyed their custom in-season mocktail, their house salad, their white bean & garlic hummus and their smoked butternut squash. Everything was so fresh and fulfilling. It was the perfect meal before a long drive home!
Two glorious days in a paradise close to home, being pampered and indulging in delicious, healthy foods – I cannot wait for my next visit. We highly recommend visiting Ste Anne’s Spa, whether on your own, with a friend or as a couple or even as a group!
