The wait is finally over, our Costa Rica house is officially ready to hit the market and we wanted to share it with you here, first. For those of you that like to jump right to the visual, you will find photos of this home at the end of this blog post.
We started this project last year and it has been such an adventure!
Uvita, Costa Rica is the area we chose when building and it’s actually an area we have been visiting for 14 years. It is about a 3 hour drive south of the San Jose airport or you could always take a scenic short 20 minute flight to the Quepos airport from San Jose and drive 30 minutes from there to Uvita. You can buy or rent a vehicle when in Costa Rica or hire a driver too.
We started visiting this area of Costa Rica when we were dating and have continued to visit whenever we can. It is such a gorgeous and exciting area of the world with lush jungle, waterfalls, stunning beaches, epic surf, incredible animals like monkeys, macaws and sloths and so much fresh delicious fruit. We sold everything in fall 2020 and moved there, searched for land for a long time until we found this gem of a spot to build 3 homes. This is the first build of 3 and we will be keeping the 3rd for ourselves to rent and use personally when we visit.
This custom 3 bedroom home has 2.5 bathrooms + an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen. It has an open kitchen and living room, laundry room and large pantry. The master bedroom has a full walk in closet, a soaker tub and from the bedroom you can walk through the floor to ceiling sliding doors to the patio by the pool. The 2 additional bedrooms have custom wall to wall closets and a desk. Right off of the kitchen there is a large pantry. We made sure that this home has a plethora of storage.
It is walking distance to the iconic ‘Whale’s Tail’ beach and national park, in Spanish it is Bahia Bellena. In photos you will see that the beach is shaped like the tail of a whale, it’s truly a magical place! The house is also walking distance to some of the best restaurants and to grocery stores, bike & surf board rental shops, banks, churches, schools and community amenities.
This beautiful, brand new build has a square footage of 3550 (330m²) , high ceilings and so much natural light. It has a large, deep pool and a stunning custom outdoor kitchen. This home also has an oversized lot that is 1000 sq metres in size, which is great for privacy, for the outdoorsy family and perfect for growing fruit trees or gardening. Monkeys frequent the surrounding trees often and every day you will see scarlet macaws flying over this home. You can also watch the sunset from the backyard of this house and they are breathtaking!
We furnished this home with custom pieces that were made locally in teak wood and it is fully turn key, this means you could move in with just your clothing and toiletries or you could rent it out right away and start earning on your income property. This is a gorgeous area and very popular for rentals, all year round!
You’ll find everything you might need: high quality linens and pillows, bath, pool and beach towels. Non toxic cookware and dinnerware. There is a water filtration system on the home. Custom linen black out window coverings in the bedrooms and linen curtains in the living space. High Speed Wireless Internet, 70″ tv in the living room and electrical set up for a tv in each bedroom if wanted. There is also ample parking for 2 vehicles as you access through a security-controlled gate.
