We are so excited to share the bunk room with you all, this has been such a fun space to design and complete as a family. The custom bunk room was a must have for me when building this house, we wanted a space that the kids could enjoy and also share with their friends or cousins when they visit. Every area of this room was planned according to the space we had and a very specific Pinterest board.
I envisioned crisp whites (of course), a whole bunch of Metrie shiplap, stairs vs ladders and built in desks & closets. While designing this space and building it, Craig and his dad turned the stairs into storage cubbies too which became the kiddos favourite thing in the room, other than the bunks of course. It’s a great space to store books and their favourite toys or drawings. The floor to ceiling built-in closets have a ton of storage as well as the drawers in the bottom bunks.
There is something so fun about a bunk room, am I right?
While they were building the bunks they also had the idea to add latches so that the railing of the top bunks could fold down, it’s so helpful for when making the bed on the top bunks! You can find locks like these at your local hardware store for under $10 if you want to keep it simple and inexpensive.
The wall sconces in the bunks are under $20 and have a great coastal vibe to them too!
The interior doors of our house are from Metrie, their Livingstone model. We sourced our Metrie items locally from Barrie Trim and the hardware is from Emtek in their black finish.
