Another day, another finished space! We are so excited to share one of the spare rooms of our new home with you, this room was so fun to complete. It all started with a vintage green chair and it’s matching mirror I found second hand while we were clearing land at the property.
You guys know I love green, and antique finds – I really wanted the space to have darker woods in it and clean white linens, with of course the modern farmhouse vibes. When I curated my wallpaper collection with Curated Walls, I knew this Wild Magnolia print would be perfect for this bedroom. The tones aren’t overwhelming for a floral wallpaper and they tied in so perfectly with our vintage finds. I also love that the base of this paper is a soft white.
It was important to us to use at least 20% recycled furniture in our new home and I am so proud that we did even more, these nightstands were from our last house too! We found our white linen bedding from h&m home, great quality and inexpensive, you can also find the matching bedskirt there too.
Our flooring in this room is the same as the rest of the home, Van Gogh 9.5″ European White Oak from Pravada Flooring. The wall colour of this bedroom is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. All of the window trim, baseboards and even these gorgeous closet doors are from Metrie Trim, we honestly love Metrie! We’ve worked with them for years and this is our first time using their Livingston Doors in our home. Many of you were so shocked we didn’t use the same doors from our last house but I honestly love these so much! We source all of our Metrie products locally from Barrie Trim, they are a great company and have all of our favourite Metrie products and more. Another important thing to use during this build was working with local companies as much as possible! The door handles are from Emtek in a black finish.
We kept things simple with smaller brass & acrylic lamps and our friend Diane over at Rural Roots Flower Co. put together some adorable succulents in copper vases for the space, I love that the real greenery pops against the wallpaper, dark woods and clean whites. I also kept things simple for the ceiling light and went with a soft linen semi-flush mount so that it wouldn’t block or take away from the beautiful wallpaper.
I am loving how bright and airy this space turned out with a mix of old & new pieces, what do you guys think of it?
