What do you wear to holiday parties? It’s super fun to get really dressed up but I love a good denim dressy mix too and so do the kids! Because why not? Denim is comfy and can totally be worn to your upcoming holiday get together. So today we wanted to show you what outfits we put together for the family for decking the halls this season!
I will start with my own look, the comfiest thin turtleneck tucked into my favourite GAP 360 stretch high waisted jeans, these things have the perfect amount of stretch and are the perfect mom jean. I dressed this look up with a cashmere plaid scarf, some red heels and a red wool jacket with a gold bow broach! A new pair of heels make a big difference ladies, these ones are from Banana Republic and I had to have them. You could also add more accessories to dress things up even more, think earrings, layered necklaces or some stacked bracelets. I’ve linked a bunch of my favourites at the end of this post! I’ve been wearing this red wool jacket non-stop this winter and I’ve had so many compliments on it. It’s on sale right now and it comes in petite too!
Ella picked out her favourite stretchy jeggings from GAP and paired it with a comfy tee and her new red pointelle cardigan she picked in store, to dress things up we added her new faux-fur vest and the sweetest gold glittery ribbon lace-up boots – she loves her outfit and was so comfortable. At holiday parties the kids play a ton with their cousins or help us all prep food in the kitchen, making pasta or bread – this outfit was perfect for a busy 6 year old. To dress it up even more I picked out a red bow for her hair, bows are always a good idea to us gals!
Noah picked out a cute plaid flannel and wanted a new cable knit cardigan, he usually picks out his own bowties (yes, seriously he does) but he actually went for a cute clip on tie this year. So dapper! He paired it all with his favourite slim-fit stretchy jeans (with a comfy waistline for a 4 year old climber) and his favourite bright white sneakers. You could dress this look up even more with some cute tan chealsea boots to match dad!
Dad went for a classic cashmere sweater in my favourite colour, a forest green. I love greens & reds during the holidays, surprised? Ha! He paired it with his favourite pair of GAP stretch flex jeans (that mom got monogrammed for him last year). To dress things up we added a plaid cashmere scarf and a pair of leather chelsea boots and a nice leather watch too!
We all matched in some way for this family look, Noah’s plaid pattern on his flannel shirt matched mom & dads scarf while Ella’s red cardigan matched my jacket and heels. I am a total nerd when it comes to twinning with the kids and I think it’s only getting worse ha! I’m debating matching Christmas sweaters next year, who’s with me?
A big thanks to GAP & GAP Kids for sponsoring this fun post, we loved sharing it with you and love shopping there for the entire family! We hope you enjoyed the quick read and rock your jeans to a holiday get together this year in GAP style! xo
