We’ve officially started decorating the house and boy oh boy I can’t wait to share our most recent finds with you from Hudson’s Bay, a place we have shopped since I was little for the entire family! I still rock my olympic red winter Hudson’s Bay Company mittens from 2006 guys and Noah’s big boy bedroom is already decked out in a Canadian outdoors theme full of our favourite decor items from them too. As a Canadian, this brand is a big part of our interior decor and we are so excited to have partnered with Hudson’s Bay & Shopstyle today to share some holiday decor in our home with you!
This Christmas I wanted to incorporate some Gluckstein holiday pieces into our home, we went with a nostalgic Nutcracker theme and right away spotted this beautiful nutcracker in a cardigan for some table top decor, what do you think of him? I think he’s adorable!
To of course stick with the Nutcracker theme we had to find a ballerina and nutcracker ornaments for our flocked tree, the kids and I spotted a great 4 pack set of Gluckstein mini nutcrackers and a ballerina in a beautiful pastel blue tutu – they all worked perfectly for the tree and the kiddos LOVED putting them up! We are off to the Nutcracker ballet this month and these pieces really upped the anticipation, especially since we watched the newest movie in theatres last weekend too!
Do you always decorate with a theme in mind for the holidays? Next year we are going to do a mini Hudson’s Bay Company tree for the kiddos to decorate with these animals in canoes ornaments, swoon!!! There was a bear, a racoon and I had to pick up the bear for Noah – he loves it so much! There are at a great price point and the quality is outstanding, great for a classic Christmas theme in my opinion. You could always blend the finial Hudson’s Bay Company ornaments too to dress it up a bit and some white ribbon! We of course needed some figure skates for the tree too, we found so many beautiful ornaments this year at Hudson’s Bay guys honestly! If you are hunting for a beautiful lightly flocked artificial Christmas tree we found one online for 50% off, this beautiful 7ft Gluckstein Home one is getting all the heart eyes from me! It’s pre-lit too, yassss!!!
This time of year is a magical one for us, I try not to make too much of a fuss and make it really fun for the kids. Noah is 4 now and Ella is 6, they really take decorating the tree seriously vs giving me serious OCD with ornament placement when they were little haha! No more ornaments all clumped in one area of the tree, they really take their time to find the perfect spot. How cute are they decorating our tree in their new outfits we picked up while in store?
I HAD to get the black velvet blazer for Noah, and the beautiful flannel Ralph Lauren dress for Ella. They love their outfits and do not put up a fight to wear them, Ella felt so sophisticated she said and Noah felt dapper – these littles pick up all the words I say haha! You can find Noah’s 4 piece suit set {here}, it came with the velvet blazer, a shirt and tie and dress pants with an elastic waist band (perfect for a 4 year old at a holiday party). Now all I need is elastic waist band dress pants for myself this holiday season! Or there is a black velvet boys Ralph Lauren Blazer on sale as well {here}.
Ella’s dress you can find {here}, it’s so soft and comfortable and pairs beautifully with leggings and ballet flats. I’m pretty sure both of their outfits are on MAJOR sale right now too!
To keep things super magical for the family we picked up this beautiful FAO Schwarz Sleigh Advent Calendar with mini drawers that light up for every day of counting down to Christmas. It’s made of wood instead of plastic which is so refreshing, it lights up so magically at night too. I made DIY little paper cards that said things like “Family Game Night” and “Family Movie Night”. The kids opened family movie night already and we watched a movie together with popcorn all snuggled on the couch in our chunky knit Hudson’s Bay Company blanket and sipped hot chocolates in our copper Bodum mugs over filled with yummy marshmallows! PS, this is my favourite blanket ever and it’s on MAJOR sale right now too. This navy tartan one is another of our favourites around the house. They make the perfect gift for a friend paired with a matching mug or a book! Maybe even include the Hudson’s Bay Company espresso set, they make great mini mugs for the littles too! Our kiddos use theirs and sip pretend coffee (frothed almond milk haha) while Craig and I sip our real adult caffeine filled drinks. I use the best frother ever by Nespresso that we picked up from Hudson’s Bay, it froths cold and hot and so quickly…plus it’s easy to clean! Bodum has a manual milk frother too but who has time for that haha? I love our Nespresso frother you can find {here}!
Speaking of home items, my Bodum copper french press is my go to for hot chocolate and coffee and has been for years, it’s the best quality french press I have ever found and it sure helps that I love how it looks sitting out on our open wooden shelves in the kitchen. I serve marshmallows in the cream and sugar matching copper set too! If you are looking to put together a gift for the coffee lover in your life, I would suggest getting the Bodum coffee french press, coffee grinder, copper mugs and double wall insulated stemless cups too – all favourites in our home! I even serve yoghurt parfaits in the stemless glasses sometimes.
Does your family have a go-to holiday baked good you like to enjoy with hot chocolate? Ours hands down is fresh cinnamon buns! I bake big ones in our Le Creuset cast iron skillet, another favourite piece in our kitchen – I use it for quiches too! Hudson’s Bay has allllll the Le Creuset pieces your heart desires in every colour! You can find them online or in store.
If you are looking to spoil the fur baby in the family like we did, we found the sweetest dog bed, sweater and matching collar & leash at Hudson’s Bay – all very well priced and amazing quality. It’s hard to find great quality leashes and collars for a big dog and I was so happy with these!
You can find each of them by clicking on the images below. And yes, you heard that right – dog sweater, you guys know how much our Gatsby loves clothes!
