All year we’ve been earning points on our American Express Platinum Card to redeem for gift cards during this busy, magical, yet expensive time of year, haha! Christmas can put a big dent in your bank account, so this year we made sure to use a Card that works for us. As Platinum Cardmembers we earn 1.25 Membership Rewards points for every dollar we charge to our Card, from things like groceries, filling up our gas tanks, and of course, Christmas shopping!
During the holidays using our American Express Platinum Card to shop for the presents is no exception. Like I have told you guys so many times before – spending on this Card makes me feel so much better knowing I am earning points at the same time. It’s so important to Craig and I that we have a Card that makes sense for our family, our lifestyle and our spending habits. I mean, I am going to shop either way so I might as well be earning points too.
These points really add up too, especially because we basically try to charge every single purchase we can to this Card – the more points the better, am I right? These points are so easy to redeem as well. Everything can be done online through your online account or in the Amex App. Membership Rewards points are redeemable for a wide selection of things, including travel, concert experiences, gift cards, merchandise and even towards purchases already charged to your Card as statement credits! And in my case, I was able to redeem for gift cards to TJX stores to pick up some great items for the whole family.
TJX stores like Homesense, Marshalls and Winners are one of our favourite places to shop for during the holidays – we can find items for the entire family there, especially our fur baby Gatsby! I put this post together today to show you some of the recent items I picked up for friends, family and Gatsby…okay and myself too, haha!
I found some copper salt & pepper mills, a new basket for my plants (you guys know I am plant and basket obsessed), I found these cute Christmas boxes to fill with fresh baked goodies for someone on our list, a marble & wood dog dish and I even found this adorable Christmas sweater for Gatsby!!! I told myself I wouldn’t become that dog mom, but I totally have guys.
