I have been itching to share my breakfast at Tiffany’s experience and, I mean…can you understand why!?! I did the most ridiculous happy dance when this partnership arose, a brand I loved, in a city I loved – launching a fragrance named after one of my favourite Beatles songs. A lot of you followed along on this adventure and were just as excited as I was, it was so ethereal. A total pinch me moment sitting in the New York City iconic store enjoying breakfast and being immersed into the Tiffany & Co. brand.
Tiffany & Co., the world’s premier jeweler and America’s house of design, has been at the forefront of contemporary culture since its inception. Founded in New York in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany, the small fine goods store became an instant hit with socialites, magnates and heads of state for its definitive style, superior quality and innovative yet timeless designs. Tiffany’s passion for diamonds led him to purchase the Tiffany Diamond, a rare and brilliant 128.54-carat yellow diamond, discovered in 1877. Together, these acquisitions earned Tiffany the moniker ‘The King of Diamonds.” and established a tradition of excellence that remains relevant to this day.
I arrived to the Plaza Hotel in New York City to a gorgeous room of golden hues full of white roses and goodies from Tiffany & Co., I relaxed and had a good nights sleep before a morning of fun in store where we experienced trying on some of the most exquisite pieces of jewellery I have ever seen, after an adorable breakfast & mimosas of course. We were also taken to meet some of the craftsmen behind the brand, the time and heart that goes into every Tiffany & Co. creation is truly awe worthy, Tiffany diamond awe worthy! It was here that we were introduced to the next chapter of this iconic brand, Tiffany & Co. – the fragrance, all you need.
In the spirit of keeping Tiffany close, the new artisanal fragrance unleashes the essence of the brand in all of its purity, just bare skin, a scent, a touch of jewelry and one iconic colour. Tiffany & Co. introduces its new fragrance, a bold scent created by world-renowned master perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan. The sparkling floral musk is a contemporary take on the most precious ingredients of traditional haute perfumery. The scent opens with vibrant top notes of vert de mandarine. At the heart, a precious iris flower is the hero ingredient. Tiffany’s association with the iris dates back to the earliest sketches found in the Tiffany Archives and is deeply entwined in the DNA of the house. It was an iris brooch set with demantoid garnet blossoms and Montana sapphires that earned Tiffany the grand prize at the Paris Exposition in 1900. Harvested in France during the months of July and August, the iris butter is obtained through a unique hydrodistillation extraction, exclusive to the Tiffany fragrance, ensuring a pure, bright, sensual and long-lasting richness to the final note. This signature ingredient adds strength, femininity and grounds the composition with refinement and sophistication. Patchouli base notes wrapped in a blend of soothing musk is sensual on the skin. The final structure is both unexpected and timeless -scent in its most elemental form.
I was taken by the scent immediately, I love vert mandarine and patchouli and the blend of it with the iris was so pleasant & unexpected. It’s rich and powerful in a lovely elegant way. I am also a firm believer that it is not only the quality of the perfume but also how it reacts on every person. It took differently on every one trying it in the room of course but every one enjoyed it, each of us appreciated all the notes. The Tiffany & Co, fragrance makes for such a lovely gift for your mother, your daughter, a friend or wife or something for yourself.
Another thing I love about this perfume is the bottle, is it just me or is that such a big factor in selecting your favourite scent? I care just as much about the scent as I do about how it look sitting on my vanity and the Tiffany & Co. fragrance looks just as iconic as it should, it evokes that feeling of opening up a pretty blue box every time I pick it up to wear it. There is so much thought behind this launch and the fact that the bottle looks like cuts of a diamond is no coincidence of course.
The 4 muses of the fragrance are the yellow diamond, the Lucida® diamond, the Noble Iris and of course, the Tiffany Blue Box®. The glass flacon of the Tiffany & Co. fragrance takes its inspiration from the house’s most iconic diamond cuts. The elaborate faceting work at the base recalls the 128.54 carat Tiffany Diamond – the one we all swoon over, the one I have pictured below. I had goosebumps looking at it! The pure geometric lines of the shoulders mirror the house’sLucida®-cut diamond engagement ring, a diamond ring that took decades to develop. A hint of Tiffany Blue® adorns the collar in the signature T pattern with an ever so elegant engraving of the Tiffany & Co’ mark on a plaque under the cap. The bottle feels as special as a piece of fine jewelry. But, to add that always appreciated cherry on top – the fragrance is packages in the signature Tiffany Blue Box®, an internationally recognized symbol of style and sophistication…yes please!!!
This gift would put a smile on any girls face, just as it did mine. I brought home a bottle for my mother and she was so excited and is asked about the fragrance every time she wears it out!
