Every gift tells a story in our home and we’ve partnered up with Indigo again to share some of our favourite finds for the holidays. Gifts for the entire family, gifts that tell a story.
Last Christmas while browsing the aisles of Indigo, I stumbled upon the Anniversary edition of Polar Express – a book I had been reading since I was a child around the holidays, a story I loved every time it was read to me. The kids have fallen in love with that story over the last two years and I was so glad to pick up the newest Anniversary edition for them. A gift I picked out for them because of the story behind it for me. I love buying books for the kids and friends & family, I also love receiving books. One of my best friends always gives me a new book every holiday, I am always reminded just how well she knows me each time. Last year she got me the best book on refinishing vintage finds and the year before that it was a book about finding the best paint colours for the home…she knows me all too well lol.
Books make great gifts for the little ones too, and who doesn’t appreciate when someone gives their children a book to encourage reading and imagination? I love it as a parent. Indigo has an especially great French section for books in the kids area, this is particularly great for me as a bilingual parent trying to raise my kiddos learning French as well or when gifting to other Bilingual parents!
Indigo is such a great destination for finding gifts for everyone on your list, they have such a massive variety of products that suit every personality. Whether it is the baker in the family, or the teacher – the new niece or nephew or of course the loves of your life, little or small! The quirky expression mugs for example, I can always find the perfect mug for at least a handful of people – they always have fun treats that can easily be packed into the mugs as well, like all the fixin’s for the perfect cup of hot chocolate & marshmallows. Or cute shaped cookies! I buy a set of pillows for myself almost every season as well as the newest cook books, we all need a little something for ourselves right? Ha! I usually grab a cookbook for a friend and pair it with a cute Indigo tea towel or bakeware too, you guys know that I have a thing with creating gift sets.
For this holiday season I have compiled a list of my favourites from Indigo for the special people in my life and you can find them {here} over at the Indigo website where I have a fun feature!
You can find them online with the links below or you can also head into the stores to see them for yourself and get creative by putting together some fun gift sets while sipping on a latte and enjoying the oh-so amazing Holiday music that is flooding the stores – yes, I am that lady haha!
Let me know what you find, I would love to hear it. I especially love hearing about great books for the kiddos or myself that I don’t know about yet – share the recommendations guys!
