As you guys know I have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of one of our bathrooms that was sponsored by Wayfair, a super creative space we completely transformed in just 30 days! I have been itching to show you guys the bathtub of my dreams. My dreams!!!! I couldn’t be more thankful to have collaborated again with Wayfair, a place I shop – oh, every day!!! I genuinely plan to give you guys a video tour once our house is all finished so you can see just how big of fans we are of Wayfair – nearly every thing in our home was found there – no lie. As mentioned in my inspo post – Wayfair makes it so simple to shop for the items you need in a renovation or even a finished space. Craig and I measured the space we had for things we needed and with the ever to easy filters for refining a search on their website, finding our bathroom items were a breeze! The only difficulty was actually deciding between the ones that fit lol – working with two different tastes. This bathroom was more inspired by my vision of a bathroom and I am letting Craig take control over the ensuite, this one we are revealing to you today though is the one where the kids and I will enjoy our bubble baths and it’s a bathroom we will share (read more in my inspo post here).
You’ll see from the images at the end, this bathroom started out so awkward and GREEN haha!! Green walls, green counters, green everything! The space was so cramped and not very functional for our family and not the aesthetic we wanted of course. So we planned out our transformation and got started. I knew I wanted marble but decided against having it on the floor, I have wanted a cement tile look in a large washroom for ages so I went for it – and the tub, I knew I wanted a clawfoot. We debated between painting the base black or leaving it all white but after deciding on this fun and busy tile, we kept the tub white. You will notice that the bathroom isn’t fully finished – unfortunately we had a little hiccup with the finish of our faucets where me-oh-my ordered the wrong finish LOL, fail! So for now we are revealing this space in its current state and will 110% update you on how it looks when it’s completely finished.
The one faucet that did make it in time for the reveal however is the polished brass faucet for the claw foot tub, I seriously swoon whenever I look at this thing!!!!!!!! It is exactly how I pictured it and more! You can find our clawfoot tub by clicking {here} and the vintage faucet {here}.
The vanity ended up being way nicer than I had ever imagined when ordering it, I mean I knew it was pretty but when it arrived and we unpackaged it we fell in love! It is such a show piece in the space and even though the finishes are chrome on it, we love the look of the mixed metals so far in this space…something I never thought I’d ever be comfortable with.I’m not sure how we managed to complete this transformation in 30 days, we love a challenge but Craig wasn’t exactly impressed with me reminding him constantly of our deadling lol – oh the joys of renovating together!! When gutting the original washroom we made it larger by removing the linen closet that was behind the old shower, we have a large linen closet right outside of the washroom so I knew I wouldn’t be missing this one haha. We also ended up putting the toilet where the original shower was and the vanity where the original toilet was, there was so much awkward unused space in the previous layout. We put a new tub where the original tub was which was great for the plumbing work that was needed to be done and added in our glass shower where the original small vanity was. With two toddlers using this washroom we knew we wanted a double vanity, something they could grow up using and have their own space – it isn’t fun dealing toddler arguments over a bathroom sink lol! After the shower was finished and the glass doors were installed Craig began tiling the floor, I was so nervous about how my selections would work together but I am happy with how it turned out! There are still quite a few finishes needed to complete this space like vanity faucets, shower faucets and accessories – oh the accessories I have planned!!! I still have a few pieces from Wayfair that I just ordered over the weekend that I want to add into the space, a lot of wood details to complete the look I am going for. For now, I will dream of the bubble baths I can enjoy when we are all moved into our new house in two weeks!!!!
