We had the opportunity to work with Wayfair CanadaWayfair Canada on a Merry Mantel this holiday season and the collaboration came so naturally, as you all know we are big fans of Wayfair Canada and almost every thing in our home is from online ordering from their website! This season I wanted to do something nice in my office fireplace yet keep it outdoorsy, so often that space is neglected around the holidays but since we renovated it I knew it was time to give this fireplace some attention. I wanted to keep things simple and not too “perfect” with some fresh greenery from our local greenhouse, luckily my friend & interior designer Ashley Davidson saved the day and brought me this fresh wreath & garland since I have been super confined to the house with a stomach flu!!! She helped me put together this entire little space and talk about a breath of fresh air having someone to do a project with, it’s so nice having a mix of tastes and opinions when working on something – it really pulls a great vision into reality. On Wayfair I loved this pinecomb wreath, and I am loving the bloomed cotton wreaths like this one as well as this one similar to the one from my space! You can also re create a similar look with this pre lit pine garland too!
I am a huge fan of gingerbread houses in apothecary jars, there is something about them that is so whimsical and magical – very much like a snow globe! I love how they look like a little snowy world inside and this was a great way to get Ella involved in the project. I chose this apothecary jar and ordered 2 of them for our mantel. We built the two gingerbread houses together and she actually decorated the two houses herself, we had so much fun!! We have a super fun gingerbread recipe coming to the blog soon so stay tuned. We also added in 2 of these mini must have christmas trees, they were under $20 too!
I pulled this basket from our bedroom part way through the shoot to become the perfect home for our favourite cozy Wayfair throws and my newest Christmas pillow, burlap & a big red bow – perfect! This space to me is so welcoming with this oversized faux fur throw, this plaid throw and of course two fresh moscow mules waiting!!! We picked out a nice copper wood stack bucket to sit by the fire and threw some birch logs on top for height. The kids are never really in this space as it is full of packages and products that arrive as well as a fancy bar cart and other fragile items ha ha but they join us sometimes for a cuddle and it was great to decorate a space with Ella’s help, 4 year olds really do love to do as much with us as they can and she over the moon excited. You can see more of this space on the Wayfair website on December 9th. I think it turned out pretty darn good, what do you guys think?
