You guys know I am all about supporting small shops and local ones to Canada when I can, when I had the opportunity to do a fun collaboration with Etsy Canada I of course knew this would be the perfect fit for us during the holidays! Handmade decor and gifts are hands down – the. Best. I worked in our new African Juju hat from a local London, Ontario Etsy shop to do something difference and I absolutely love it – they come in so many colours so you can really get creative and these can stay up all year round! I love finding cute pom pom garlands like the one I used here on our fireplace mantel to hold some of the cutest Christmas cards by an artist Amelie Legault in Quebec we have featured for years now! I actually first purchased something from her Etsy shop 2 years ago when decorating my daughter’s big girl bedroom, she makes the best flamingo prints that are great for gifts for yoga lovers or flamingo lovers! Her Christmas cards are art by her and people LOVE them! They are SO Canadian and every time we give them to someone they have a great laugh and love putting them on display on their fireplace too! If you have family or friends living in a warmer climate while we a burried under snow, I strongly suggest sending them the adorable lobster Christmas cards – they are of lobsters doing winter activities. Or if you have a fisherman in the family, you’ll find one for him too haha! The kids also love them because, let’s be honest – all kids love animals and who wouldn’t love cute Christmas cards of animals doing winter sports!?! My friend Jessica, a fellow mama in this social community I’ve become a part of in this career runs a stationary shop full of great Christmas cards too. They are great clean, black and white cards that are a great for any one in the family or putting together little DIY gifts, for stockings or to fit that thoughtful giftcard! I of course love the “All I want for Christmas is you” card {here} and the “Most wonderful time of the year” one {here}, perfect!
For gifts, I love giving people comfy throw blankets and a pillow that suits them, these pillows and throw were a gift to my husband (and myself haha). I love changing up the bedroom for the holidays but not in a harsh (red everywhere) kind of way. I ordered a huge cuddle worthy chunky knit handmade blanket (swoon), cute plaid pillows from Etsy, a nice white faux fur one and of course the Coffee & Donuts Pillow. It warmed up the space instantly for the holiday weather to come and once you put two cute toddlers in santa hats its Christmasafied haha!! On Etsy you can find the CUTEST santa hats, especially ones for newborns ahhh!!! I have linked to a couple below for you and the family!
Ella loves the FA LA LA LA mug and Noah loves the “Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal” mug, he has no idea that every one we meet says he looks exactly “like the kid from home alone” lol!!! And who doesn’t love a good movie quote mug for Christmas?
