The delicious cake from Butter Avenue that was waiting for us next to a tub filled with rose petals and champagne on ice!!! Oh where do I begin? Talk about an incredible weekend to celebrate both my birthday & mothers day!! Craig took my the Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto for an evening of spoiling, we took some time to tour this beautiful hotel and all of its luxurious interior finishings in every square foot. I was in awe of the attention to detail in each space, since working on our home with Metrie we’ve found that detailed doors ways and wainscotting stand out even more to us – especially ceiling work! Trump hands down has been the most impressive hotel in this department by far that we have visited, their event spaces especially. We were politely greeted upon arrival by a member of the Trump Attache team that brought us to our gorgeous Grand Deluxe Suite. This room was stunning with more beautiful details, chic decor, beautiful trim work & doorways including a stunning washroom with marble heated flooring and a tab filled with rose petals!! I could have cried, honestly. I needed this relaxation time to pamper myself and for Craig and I to enjoy some time as a couple – this was perfection. If you followed along on Snapchat you would have seen the room tour when we arrived and just how magical it was. The Trump Toronto went above and beyond to make sure our Mini Getaway was romantic and special in every way.
The attache team gave us a room orientation, informing us about the locations amenities, the features of our room and our dinner reservations…we were SO excited to get to dinner, we’d heard such amazing things about the America Restaurant!
Another world tucked inside of the Trump Toronto is this super trendy restaurant, we were seated and our server promptly brought us glasses of Rose as we drooled over the menu and it’s enticing selections. How does one decide when every single item looks delicious? And it was guys, it was incredible!
Located on the 31st floor, America Restaurant and Bar & Lounge offers guests a modern twist of classics in a sophisticated and stylish dining room. As a late night venue, America Restaurant transitions to a supper club that offers live entertainment, inspired small plates and bottle service. An outdoor terrace (seasonal) and private dining loft are also available to America Restaurant, Bar & Lounge guests.
We started by sharing some starters that included Oysters, Wild Mushroom & Tame Soup and Lobster Ravioli. Need I say more? Each of the items were phenomenal and the Mushroom Soup was actually gluten free at that, it arrived at our table and the server actually poured the broth over the mushrooms right in front of us – such a great effect! We then moved onto our main courses after enjoying some fresh bread & whipped garlic butter…you may wonder how we had room for more but we are both big eaters and we were eager to try more. I enjoyed a 10 oz New York Striploin with a side of Bernaise Sauce and Craig devoured the delicious Butcher’s Mixed Grill (yes we are meat eaters). We of course shared as we always do, our way of trying more items on the menu and after dinner the restaurant staff surprised me with a dessert platter headed my way with a sparkler to top it all off! Talk about feeling spoiled, all that we needed at this point was a service that could carry us back to our rooms since we were so stuffed & also full of fresh (made in house) macarons, fine wines & champagne. If you live in Toronto and love great food, plan a dinner here – you will love it!
The following morning we woke up to a light knock on the door, our fresh coffee & breakfast had arrived. Breakfast in bed is by far one of my favourite things and so we wore our housecoats and lounged all morning snacking away slowly at our plethora of yummy breakfast goodies and sipping on delicious HOT coffee without any interruptions – the perfect time off for parents am I right!?! We had a couples massage scheduled for the afternoon so we just hid in our rooms all morning, Craig enjoyed his sports and I puttered away on some blog work before we hit the pool. The pool….you saw the photo, stunning right? This pool has a rainwater effect and it is so beautiful and calming, we had an hour to enjoy it all to ourselves before our massages! Craig swam laps and I lounged by the pool and in the jacuzzi – no rushing, no bustle and so relaxed that Craig fell asleep about 3 times in the loungers LOL!!!
We were so grateful to have some quality time together and enjoy a couples massage! We are parents with so darn much on our plates and we honestly never take the time to go for massages so this was the perfect time to do so. This spa is so serene and also luxurious like the rest of Trump Toronto, the staff is professional and kind and the change rooms are extremely classy and well kept, after we changed into our robes and slippers we were greeted by our massage therapists. I have to be honest here and say that during part of my massage I actually cried a little from one of the knots being worked out, my back had been tense for such a long time…guys I seriously hadn’t had a massage since being pregnant with Noah – nearly 2 years of stress built up in this back!! Craig and I both left with what we called “new backs”, and afterwards we were spoiled with fresh strawberries & whipped cream + more delicious champagne!!! Just typing this now has me missing that very moment, such relaxation!
After our luxurious spa experience we headed back to our room every so slowly and packed up our bags to head home, the entire drive was full of smiles and we giggled so relaxed and rejuvenated. I know I have probably said this before in other posts but this year I have truly realized how important it is to take time as a couple, even if it’s just for one night away to spoil yourselves. Trump Toronto made that possible for us and their hotel truly exceeded our every expectation from accommodations to staff, to food and amenities…every, single, thing was absolute PERFECTION!
