Spring is in the air and we’ve started to plan for our favourite season of the year, patio season. As a family of four and in a stage of our lives where all of our friends visit with more little ones each year we are always entertaining outside where there is more space to run & mingle. With the smell of freshly cut grass and homemade burgers on the barbecue we all get together to catch up up and watch our kids having fun being kids. This year I had the pleasure of collaborating with Canadian Tire and styling my very own Tropical Paradise with their Outdoor Living CANVAS Collection (that I LOVE)! Did you see the video yet? You can watch it here, I’m sharing some patio season styling tips in it. The ambience of my Tropical Paradise was so magical thanks to the CANVAS fireplace, lanterns and hanging lights!

If you’ve followed along for awhile now you know we are a family that loves to sit down and watch movies together, I make some homemade coconut oil & sea salt popcorn and we snuggle up for some Disney goodness – why not take it outside?? The theme for my outdoor CANVAS collection was a backyard movie night, a super fun thing to do as a family or with friends after the kids are asleep and you can see more of it and my outdoor styling tips here. After a delicious summer feast enjoyed at the Tribeka Teak Patio set we build a comfortable pile of pillows from the CANVAS line to get comfy & enjoy the show! I am a big fan of greenery, including succulents so the cactus Yacutan pillow above is one of my favourites from the collection, it was designed in Canada exclusively for the CANVAS collection by Davina Nathan and gives a great pop of colours. If you need more seating and want to mix & match from the outdoor collection I suggest adding 2 of the Seabrooke wicker dining chairs – there is actually a sale on right now for a pair of them {here}! It’s always fun having two statement chairs at each end of the table to play on textures and mesh decor styles + it’s always handy to have more seating when serving a big summer menu.
