We were able to walk to the beach every day with our new Valcobaby stroller, every thing was so accessible!
Well I am sure you have guessed it, we are back from Hawaii now! We’ve come home to the weirdest weather, it was warm in Canada when we arrived then we had three snow storms and now it is raining and warm again!?! Really, we are all having Hawaii withdrawls over here now – it is SUCH an incredible place! I was looking forward to sharing the Home Away vacation property where we stayed while on the island of Maui and how much we loved it so here it is! This property was so perfect for our family of 7 adults and 2 kids – yes, you read that right! This was our first family vaca with every one so the goal was to have every one in each others space haha, my brother and his girlfriend that has been travelling in Australia for 6 months met us in Hawaii too which was so great – they really got to spend time with the kids for the first time in awhile. There was more than enough space here for every one and it was very toddler friendly which was so important for every one, working with Home Away was a breeze and it truly helped that we could communicate with the owners of the house and ask all of our questions prior to booking & arrival. The decor was beautiful and so inviting, you all know I love the beachy vibed decor so the jute rugs and rattan chairs were my favs – I also fell in love with their tv console. I believe it was a custom made piece from the looks of it, I’ve tried to link to some of my favourite decor items from the rental throughout the post though (including the kitchen faucet)! My step mom and I LOVED the kitchen faucet, I never really knew how handy it was to have a chef faucet until using one for 9 days in a house of 9 people…we literally went out and bought one for the new kitchen yesterday because I loved it so much. The rental had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (thank gosh we didn’t rent a house with less), a big beautiful kitchen + dining area & living room, a double garage & beautiful backyard, a great barbecue, a tv in every room actually and beautiful linens provided for all of us. The kitchen had great cookware too which was important since we all cooked a lot of meals together at home, one thing I love about travelling and renting a home is fun of getting local ingredients and cooking them all together while enjoying lots of laughs and wine! I was so sad that I forgot to take photos of the cutest coffee mugs they had, each mug was a different pastel colour with a great saying – maybe we need to go back just so I can take photos of them lol? I wish it was that easy!
This beautiful rental property (here) was what we would call steps from one of the most beautiful beaches evere, Napili Bay and it had the best sunsets. Every night the beach would fill up with locals and vacationers watching the sun go down – I think I have about 300 picturse on my phone just of the sunets there! It’s also such a safe area which once again was SO important for us, it’s in a gated area and surrounded by more lovely homes along the waterfront and around the corner from one of our FAV breakfast spots “The Gazeobo” in Napili Bay (the BEST BEST BEST pancakes you will ever have)! They have a long wait, even if you get there prior to opening time but it is SO worth it. They make their own coconut syrup paired with macadamia banana pancakes…I almost teared up they were so delicious.
Everything was close by, wether it be the farmers market, the grocery store, coffee shops or restaurants. It was a nice middle point to from the areas we wanted to venture to! We hit the Costco on arrival to Maui and stocked up on nearly everything we needed and during our stay we hit up fruit and veggie stands from the locals. If you are on the hunt for a property to rent close to beaches that are great for SUP boarding, some body surfing, snorkeling and that has a kid-friendly beach then this rental in Napili Bay is THE spot. There were turtles all day every day at this beach and Ella was over the moon excited to see them! In our comfy vacation rental we all spent most of the nights together in the living room laughing or watching tv, I have to admit that we all did watch the Bachelor together one of the nights which was hillarious…listening to every one critique and comment is sometimes better than the show LOL! It was also so nice to have a two car garage since we rented to big vehicles for everyone to fit, it was also AMAZING to have our own washer & dryer in the garage, we could all leave our beachy clothing in the garage before heading into the house and it kept us all from over packing by having laundry facilities. Plus, we all know with kids this is even more thrilling to have! They even had beach chairs for every one and beach umbrellas, towels…you name it. It’s always nice when you rent somewhere and you have children to not have to travel with every single item you could need, like a high chair for example – they had one there for us (phew!). We were probably the funniest looking lot in the airports with our 2 car seats, double stroller and excess of luggage LOL – where is the candid camera when you need one!?!
Check out our Maui vacation home here, we highly recommended it for a family vacation to Hawaii or even without little ones!!
Just ordered the basket from your post so cute and this spot looks incredible, we tried to go to the gazebo one year but the wait was over an hour and our little ones wouldn’t last!! Xx
