This is such an exciting post for me, it is our first of a fun sequence deemed #weddingwednesday! Every wednesday from now till August I will be featuring something related to our wedding wether it be DIY or planning, decorating and even a fun wedding dress experience post where you get to see how I picked my dress for the big day. Today is the first of some beautiful features – I assure you!
When planning our wedding invites we knew we wanted to send something to our guests in the mail and I knew I wanted it to be hand made, did we have the time to spare to do a project like this? Heck no, but we managed any how between ourselves and the help of a bridesmaid and my mother and we were so happy with how they turned out! It took some back & forth with a lovely stamp company The Print Mint Shop and some aisle scanning in Michaels to find all of the pieces to create the invite we wanted to incorporate the theme of the wedding…a little. We of course didn’t want to give every thing away! I LOVED working with stamps and I guess as an engineer Craig did too? Ha! I loved the freedom of being able to get some coloured ink to play around with and really narrow down the look we loved, the floral paper I chose at Michaels was love at first sight and you’ll see over the course of these posts how it has taken a big role in the wedding stationary. This stamp shop were beyond patient with us and the design we had in mind for the invite, they were so fun to deal with and you could tell they were passionate about making our stamps perfect. Their prices are incredibly reasonable as well which made it an easy decision to get, oh…4 stamps made in total ha! I especially love our return address stamp as we had Shelley & Nicole make it titled “The Wests” even though we are not legally married yet, this way we can use it forever when sending things from our family. Their stamp production company was started by their dad who has been making stamps for decades and they had everything made and shipped so quickly, family run companies are simply my favourite. Our RSVP’s have started rolling in this week & I am so very giddy!
Looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for featuring us on your blog.
