Early last week we all rose to take some family shots with Allison Milne our photographer, we were all sleepy but she knew how to get us all giggling and chipper! I am over the moon smitten with the shots she got of Ella holding her baby brother, she is ever so gentle with him and we are pretty sure she would be content spending her entire day smothering him in kisses ha ha. Ella could not wait to give Noah his Fox stuffy that Oh Just Dandy sent us for her to gift to her baby brother, she always holds it for him and lays it next to him when he is sleeping. I was highly surprised she didn’t claim it for herself as our daughter LOVES her stuffed animals, her bed would be full of them if she had it her way…we have limited her to 5 at bed time so far and we have another 10 on rotation! Quail Lane Company had sent these precious moccs to us before Noah was born and I could not wait to get them on the kiddos, they are adorable and the teenie ash ones go PERFECTLY with the stylish newborn outfit Londin Lux sent us! The quality of these items are ethereal, nothing like what we find in big box stores nowadays that have poor stitching and craftsmanship. It is great to work with smaller shops that truly take the time to work on their items…made with love just as I say.
Being a mother of 2 is such an adventure so far, especially with breastfeeding! It is a lot of work, I am not going to sugar coat it..I am exhausted, but pleasantly exhausted. When you have your first you can usually nap with them and catch up on the sleep you are missing, when you have your second that option is history. Well, for me it is. I could of course nap when Ella has her afternoon nap and Noah decides to join in but I cannot ignore the things I want done around the house or my projects.
Lately we have been spending our time learning how to be a family of four, I am so thankful Ella has such an amazing daddy to go through this learning process. They have developed and even stronger bond and as much as it kills me to take the sidelines sometimes, I am really enjoying watching the two of them have so much extra quality time. I never thought she would cooperate at bed time without mommy there every night to sing to her and to my surprise they have their own adorable system that is working great…I melt every time I hear them reading together as if it is different than when I used to hear them before. There is something about a daddy and his little girl in those little moments like him singing to her and laughing that just tug SO hard at my heartstrings I could burst.
