We love traditions and if you’ve been following on my Instagram stories recently you would have seen that we went to the Kings of Leon concert when they came to Toronto. We wanted the night to be extra special because the last time we saw them was seven years ago together, on one of our first dates.
If you’ve been following along on the blog, this year we promised ourselves that we would make sure to carve out time for romantic dates together. Our Platinum Concierge and Travel Team, courtesy of our Amex Platinum Card, have been so good to us. They’ve made our date night planning such a breeze, from booking romantic dinners at hot spots in Toronto to arranging great hotels at the best prices. This service is especially important for when we decide to spend the night downtown after dancing the evening away at a favourite band’s show.
Our evening started out with a fun drive to the city with us singing along to our favourites from the band’s album to pump us up for the show. We then hit a new yummy modern Italian restaurant in Toronto for the best gnocchi we’ve ever tasted before heading to the venue, it was SO good! When we got to the concert, we breezed through the line ups with a dedicated Amex Cardmember entrance. Trust me. it was helpful because it was a sold-out concert!!!
We then made our way to the Amex Lounge, which we love, because the seating area is right by the water and this spot has one of the best sunset views! They also have the best fish tacos and an amazing vibe to take in before a show. When we got there, we had a drink and DOUGHNUTS while the opening act was on. They were so delicious that we ordered them twice lol! They have chocolate and confetti ones with icing, which is a perfect dessert to enjoy before a concert in my opinion…you guys know I love doughnuts and my face in my Instagram post {here} says it all in Craig’s opinion HA! Once the show started, we made our way to our seats. Luckily, we snagged our tickets early thanks to Amex Access Alerts and Front Of The Line. Date night is all about having a relaxing evening with your loved one, so getting tickets before the general public is key!
The show was AMAZING – the stadium was full and everyone was singing along to the music…there’s something so intense in the best way about a packed concert and everyone belting out the same tune together and it was truly a romantic night for us.
I can’t wait for more of the shows we have planned for the year. So far on our list we have John Mayer and Chris Rock…What are you excited to go see this year?

Hello,
I noticed your sweater on Instagram, but I don’t have an account. Can you please tell me where you got it from? Thanks!!!
Hi Christine! It’s actually from Old Navy!!! I have it linked on the shop pages of my blog under ‘My Style’, let me know if you find it! xo
Okay sorry Christine, I just looked and it isn’t there any more – your best bet is probably to head into the stores and look for it!!!
