The Westin Cape Coral Florida

From December 29th to January 1st, we stayed at the Westin Cape Coral Marina Village in Florida and it ended up being a really special way to welcome the New Year, especially after leaving Ontario in the middle of a snowstorm. Stepping into sunshine felt like an instant reset!

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a marina view, and it was absolutely perfect for our family of five. Sometimes I still can’t believe it when I say that…our family of five, pinch me! The space was thoughtfully designed, comfortable and ideal for longer stays or traveling with kiddos.

One of our favourite parts was having a full kitchen and in-suite laundry, which makes such a difference when traveling as a family. Before arriving at the hotel, we stopped at Whole Foods along the drive from the airport and stocked up on our favourite organic foods, snacks, and breakfast staples. Having the ability to prepare meals and do laundry on-site added so much ease and flexibility to our stay which is something we always look for when choosing luxury family accommodations.

New Year’s Eve was a highlight of our trip. There are great shops nearby, including a spa and hair salon, where my daughter, my mother-in-law, and I all got blowouts before heading to a New Year’s Eve party at a friend’s home nearby. Being able to see friends while visiting Florida made the trip even more meaningful. At midnight, we watched a fireworks show right from our balcony overlooking the marina. It was such a fun, relaxed way to celebrate. No big crowds, no chaos, just a beautiful view and a memorable family moment.

Although the weather was cooler than expected and we didn’t end up swimming, we still truly enjoyed exploring everything the resort had to offer. We took advantage of the well-equipped gym and joined a yoga class held outdoors on the hotel’s beautiful lawn, which felt grounding and refreshing. In that same lawn area they have outside games which our family love.

We also went on a sunset boat tour from the marina, which was magical. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, including a baby dolphin swimming alongside its mother which is always one of those unforgettable travel moments that makes a trip feel extra special.

The food at The Westin was great and so was the services, everyone was so friendly. We absolutely hope to return to The Westin Cape Coral Marina Village one day, ideally when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the pool and more outdoor activities. That said, even with cooler temperatures, it was such a gift to soak up sunshine and palm trees after leaving winter behind. Did I mention they have bicycles on site for use? We made sure to go on a few bike rides during our stay which was a really great family activity and a way to explore the area.

Between the spacious family-friendly suite, thoughtful luxury amenities, marina views, wellness offerings, and convenient location, this resort is a wonderful option for families seeking a luxury Florida getaway that doesn’t sacrifice comfort or ease. We highly recommend The Westin in Cape Coral!
